Exclusive: Cannes Video Report #1

Every year Cannes plays host to 20,000 movie bigwigs, honchos and grande fromages who arrive for 11 days of film viewing, deal-making, soirees and those tiny canapes with basil on top.

Into this movie maelstrom **Empire **sends its crack Videblogisode unit, a guerilla group of hardened movie journos sent to sort the von Trier wheat from the McG chaff. If you've got an arthouse movie and you can find them, maybe you can be interviewed by the V Team.

Day One's videblogisode sees the mighty Thor (aka Chris Hewitt) reporting from the Croisette, early word on Woody Allen's latest, Midnight In Paris, and the thoughts of Empire's 'Cannes-guru' (this doesn't work so well written down) on this year's Palme D'Or favourites. Two words: Naomi Kawase's Hanezu No Tsuki. Okay, five words.
