Emily Blunt in Edge Of Tomorrow

Doug Liman has been a busy man of late, working on drug trafficking biopic American Made with Tom Cruise and finding time to also shoot indie war drama The Wall. Behind all that, he's also been developing the Edge Of Tomorrow sequel and now, talking with Collider, he's not only confirmed that Emily Blunt will be back – she hadn't been announced by anyone as definitely involved yet – but also offered up the likely title for the new movie: Live Die Repeat And Repeat.

If that seems confusing given that the original was called Edge Of Tomorrow (itself an adaptation of manga title All You Need Is Kill), it bears reminding that the name was changed again for the home entertainment release to Live Die Repeat: Edge Of Tomorrow. A little ungainly, but there's always a chance it could shift during production. "Tom is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it," says Liman. "The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when."

Given the busy schedules of the stars and their director, it'll probably be one that has to wait a while before it can head before cameras. But Liman has talked before about his plans for the follow-up, including the fact that he wants it serve as a prequel as well as a sequel. Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse have been working on the script, but the waiting game continues.

American Made is out on 25 August in the UK. The Wall hits US screens on 12 May, but has yet to see a UK date.
