Last Night In Soho

Even though there is talk of Coronavirus restrictions starting to lift and the potential for cinemas to begin re-opening in the coming weeks and months, the current pandemic's ripples are not finished affecting movie release schedules. The latest films to face delays are Edgar Wright's Last Night In Soho and David Lowery's The Green Knight.

As distributors juggle their schedules and re-assign release dates (or just leave some films without a solid slot for now), Wright's psychological horror, his deepest dive into the genre yet, was originally set to arrive this September. Now, though it had wrapped shooting, the post-production process has been impacted and the film will arrive in 2021 instead. Starring Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Diana Rigg, Matt Smith and Terence Stamp, the film's story is still mostly a mystery set in the seedy, neon-lit heart of London across at least two different time periods.

And the latest film from A Ghost Story and The Old Man And The Gun's Lowery is also having to await its fate. The film, an epic fantasy adventure based on an Arthurian legend features Dev Patel and had been slated to premiere at SXSW Film Festival before the event was scrapped and became one of the earliest victims of the spreading pandemic. Now, with Lowery and his team facing an even longer wait to release the film, talk has switched from a potential VOD release to an indefinite decision on when it might hit screens of any size.
