Though it premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival last June and arrived in US cinemas last November, Peter Ho-Sun Chan’s martial arts thriller Dragon is only now about to stalk into our cinemas. Take a look at the final trailer below.

Dragon follows one of the classic martial-arts movie plots: a man haunted by his past is trying to make amends and live quietly, only for his misdeeds and violent history to come a-knocking at his door.

Liu Jin-xi (Donnie Yen) is a village craftsman whose quiet life is irrevocably shattered by the arrival of two notorious gangsters in the local general store. When Liu single-handedly saves the shopkeeper’s life, he comes under investigation by detective Xu Bai-jiu (Takeshi Kaneshiro). Convinced that Liu’s martial arts mastery belies a hidden history of training by one of the region’s vicious clans, Xu doggedly pursues the shy hero — and draws the attention of China’s criminal underworld in the process.

Cue plenty of flying fists and feet, as Liu must now fight to save everyone around him. With Wei Tang, Yu Wang and Xiao Ran Li also in the cast, Dragon is out on May 3.
