Richard Ayoade's first film as director, Submarine, won him widespread acclaim and has propelled him to even bigger things with his latest, The Double. A loose adaptation of a Dostoyevsky story, it stars Jesse Eisenberg, and the pair were in town to launch the film at the BFI London Film Festival this weekend.

The story sees Eisenberg play Simon James, a timid man scratching out a rather dull living. A new co-worker, James Simon, who is Simon's exact doppelganger but far more confident and charming, upsets the balance of his life and threatens to drive Simon mad.

The film has already had some great reviews and the London audience was thoroughly won over by the result. Also starring Mia Wasikowska, Chris O'Dowd, Sally Hawkins, Paddy Considine, Craig Roberts and Wallace Shawn, **The Double ** is due to arrive in UK cinemas sometime in spring of 2014, so keep eyes peeled.
