Fox Searchlight has bought the rights to Breathers: A Zombie's Lament for Diablo Cody to produce as a film. Yes, after Juno and the upcoming Megans' Body, Cody has become a fully-fledged producer. Jerry Bruckheimer better watch out, honest to blog.
The about-to-be-published book by S. G. Browne will be adapted by Geoff LaTulippe (Going The Distance) rather than Cody herself, and tells the story of a deceased average Joe who's having trouble adjusting to his new zombie status. However, when he joins an Undead Anonymous group, he finds kindred souls aplenty.
The book is published next week, but keep an eye out for the film sometime next year.
