Rocketman may have been almost entirely (unfairly) overlooked at awards season, but it has certainly boosted director Dexter Fletcher's career. He's already in talks to tackle a new Universal horror movie and now Paramount has him lined up for a reboot of The Saint.

It's been a few years since this one hit the news radars – 2016 was the last main mention of a new cinematic take on Leslie Charteris' hero Simon Templar (most famously brought to life on TV by Roger Moore, while the 1997 film take starred Val Kilmer). The Robin Hood-style thief and criminal for hire takes down dodgy politicians and other nefarious wrongdoers. Fletcher feels like he could bring something fun and stylish to the idea.

Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the most recent draft of the script, while Transformers veteran Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing. Whether it has to wait for Fletcher to work on Renfield or hops into first position on the director's schedule remains to be seen.
