David Goyer To Direct Again

Not content with his already loaded schedule, David Goyer is in final negotiations to direct an untitled supernatural thriller. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are producing, and they're hoping to get started in Feb '08.

The script, which Goyer also wrote, tells the story of an 18-year-old who realises her body is slowly being possessed, and then begins to fight back against the mysterious force. Nothing else has been revealed about the storyline, so place your bets as to whether good or evil triumphs - we've got a tenner on the young and feisty lass.

So, fresh from directing supernatural thriller The Invisible and attached to direct X-Men Origins: Magneto for Marvel and Fox, all the evidence would suggest that the Blade scriptwriter is consolidating his move into a directorial role.

But what to make of this snippet of news? Well, here at Empire, our emotions are just all over the shop/office. Should we be quivering with excitement at the prospect of a new script penned by the glorious hand that brought Batman Begins into being, or should we be preparing ourselves for another let-down from the director that massacred the final instalment of the Blade trilogy? Tricky, very tricky...
