Once upon a time you couldn’t watch a movie without tripping over a Baldwin an Arquette or even a Wayans sibling – now it seems the new first family of Hollywood is the Fannings.

Not content with being one of movieland’s most prolific tweenie, Dakota Fanning is roping in little sister Elle for another cinematic salvo with Alpha Dog helmer Nick Cassavetes’ new flick My Sister’s Keeper, an adaptation of Jodi Picoult’s novel.

A prodigious actor herself - she’s popped up in everything from Babel to the upcoming Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and co-starred with her big sis in I Am Sam - little Elle will play a young girl who sues for emancipation from Mom and Pop when she learns she was conceived as a genetic match in the hope she can prolong her cancer-ridden sister's life.

Guaranteed to jerk those tears, the New Line production which also features Cameron Diaz, is due for a mid-2008 release. Dakota is expected to be Empress Of The World circa 2020.
