Once inside the main floor of San Diego Comic-Con 2013, there's a huge number of eerily accurate replicas of film characters and monsters in forms ranging from a few centimetres high to several metres. This year, the most revealing come from The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, **Edge Of Tomorrow **(formerly All You Need Is Kill), Elysium and Kick-Ass 2.

Yes, you get a little taste of what we'll see from Legolas, Tauriel and Thranduil in Peter Jackson's next visit to Middle-earth (namely fighting in the case of the former two and haughtiness in the case of the latter), as well as some gorgeous Weta models for the existing films in the series.

Edge Of Tomorrow showcased two suits of exo-skeletal-like armour at the show, boasting weird extra appendages and some rather scary guns. Speaking of scary, Kick-Ass 2 offers keen fans the chance to own a replica of Colonel Stars 'n' Stripes' baseball bat, as well as an uncensored action figure for The Motherfucker.

Elysium brought along a Homeland robot, but if it was enhanced metal humanoid figures you want then there were more for recently released blockbusters like Pacific Rim and Iron Man 3, both of which had a lavish selection of figures (the latter set of Sideshow efforts gave us our best look yet at some of the later models in Tony Stark's army)
