Back in February (anyone remember February? It seems like 50 years ago), word arrived that Rocketman's Dexter Fletcher had added another project to his busy To Do list, landing the job of directing Paramount's planned reboot of the Saint franchise. Things are moving forward on that front, as Chris Pine is attached to star.

He'll play Leslie Charteris' hero Simon Templar (most famously brought to life on TV by Roger Moore, while the 1997 film take starred Val Kilmer). The Robin Hood-style thief and criminal for hire takes down dodgy politicians and other nefarious wrongdoers. This would mark Pine's latest attempt to step into franchise shoes previously filled by others, though his stint as Jack Ryan only lasted for one film.

Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the most recent draft of the *Saint *script, while Transformers veteran Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing. While Fletcher also has a Renfield film in the works for Universal, this one looks likely to be his next film (once movies can shoot safely again), given Pine's attachment.
