If seeing Bradley Cooper back in chef’s whites gives you nostalgic feelings for defunct 2005 sitcom Kitchen Confidential well… You’re probably in a small group. But you might be happy to see him cooking up chaos again in this first trailer for Burnt.

Cooper plays Adam Jones (after whom the film was originally named, a switch from Chef, dictated thanks to Jon Favreau’s comedy), who left high school at 16 and headed to Paris to learn the culinary arts. He was a quick study and something of a sensation. But all that sudden success went directly to his ego, and that, in turn, sent him down the path of excess, drinking, drugs and overall debauchery that ruined his reputation.

Now, though, he’s looking to rebuild and has his eye on opening his own restaurant in London, with hopes he can score those all important Michelin Guide stars. But can he stay out of his own way? Or will his bad boy side take him down again?

The cast also includes the likes of Alicia Vikander, Jamie Dornan, Uma Thurman, Lily James, Emma Thompson, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Omar Sy and Cooper’s **American Sniper **co-star Sienna Miller. We really hope their baby from Sniper isn’t along for the ride – that much plastic near an open kitchen flame is a recipe for disaster.

Burnt will arrive in UK cinemas on October 16.
