Good news for anyone who's ever dressed like a glitter ball or put on make-up with a trowel: the fabulous Burlesque premiered last night in London, with stars Cher and Christina Aguilera there to wave it on its way.
The film sees Aguilera in her debut as Ali, a small-town waitress who moves to the Big City in pursuit of a career in showbusiness. There, she finds The Burlesque Lounge, run by Cher's Tess, which is on its last bank loan but still producing some great burlesque dancing. Add in a catty star (Kristen Bell) and a handsome bartender who befriends Ali (Cam Gigandet) and you've got a story!
Burlesque opens on Friday here in the UK, and we can thoroughly recommend it unless you're allergic to maribou or rhinestones.
