It’s been a while since we’ve seen new footage from X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and there was much talk of a new trailer around the time Empire’s exclusive set of 25 covers dropped. Bryan Singer is back in a teasing mood, releasing an Instagram video that surely points to a new promo on its way. Take a look below.

Yes, it’s a brief one, but this still contains a glimpse of many favourite characters and some new arrivals to the cinematic X-roster, including James McAvoy’s younger Charles Xavier, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Omar Sy’s Bishop, Daniel Cudmore’s Colossus in metallic form, Booboo Stewart’s Warpath, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Patrick Stewart’s older Xavier and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. Oh, and those are Ellen Page’s hands as Kitty Pryde helping send Logan back through time…

Days Of Future Past, of course, sees a story split between a post-apocalyptic future where mutants are hunted and killed by robots called Sentinels, and a 1970s past where they might just be able to turn the tide. Professor X and Magneto (Ian McKellen) team up to send Wolverine's consciousness back in time to his younger self to unite their younger selves and change the course of history. No problem, surely? Er…

If you want to track down one of the Empire** X-Men covers, you’ll have to act quickly as they’ll be leaving shelves in the next couple of days, replaced by the huge new look at Godzilla (though you can try your luck online). X-Men: Days Of Future Past, meanwhile, is out on May 22.
