Fresh from pipping Martha Marcy May Marlene to the hastily-invented 'Most Alliterative Movie Title Of 2012' award, The Brooklyn Brothers Beat The Best is making a strong bid to redefine the term 'lo-fi'. The story of two brothers from - you guessed it - New York, it's a road movie with a gentle heart and a plectrum in hand. The new trailer gives a flavour of what to expect.

Big kudos to that David Bowie line. That said, sounding like a six year-old Thin White Duke probably isn't the worst diss in the book. Another slam unleashed on the duo's music in the film - "kind of a Shins-meets-Sesame Street thing" - takes those honours.

The not-actually-real-brothers are failing realtor and soloist Alex (writer-director Ryan O'Nan) and self-proclaimed musical revolutionary Jim (Michael Weston), who combine forces to form a band and tour the country - or at least, the part of it they can get to.

So do they turn out to be hipsterdom's answer to Simon & Garfunkel or a pair of guitar-wielding washouts? Find out when **The Brooklyn Brothers Beat The Best **is released on July 20.brightcove.createExperiences();
