We're officially looking forward to Oobermind, the tale of a supervillain who finds his existence dull after defeating his goodie nemesis, but we got a bit of a shock today when we learned that our best mate Robert Downey Jr. has had to bow out of the film due to scheduling conflicts, and has been replaced by Will Ferrell. He's joined in turn by Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, as well as previously announced cast member Tina Fey. Do try to keep up at the back.

Ferrell will now voice the titular supervillain Oobermind, who has successfully defeated his good-guy rival Metro Man (Pitt) but finds life dull as a consequence. Oobermind tries to create a new hero nemesis, Titan (Hill), only for Titan to change sides and force Oobermind to become a good guy as well. Fey voices the reporter who's trying to keep track of it all.

The film's being directed by Madagascar co-director Tom McGrath, and is due for release in 2010.
