Movie-Con 2008!
London BFI, August 16 - 17 2008
Empire and the BFI joined forces this weekend to bring Movie-Con to London’s Southbank. This brand new event
showcased exclusive footage from some of the most exciting movies coming your way in the coming months, ranging
from Watchmen to Wolfman, from Twilight to Terminator Salvation. If you weren’t lucky enough to be there then
you can enjoy some of the highlights here, including descriptions of footage shown and video Q&As with the likes
of Guy Ritchie, Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons, Bolt producer Clark Spencer and many more.
The BFI and Empire would like to thank everyone involved in helping make this event such an amazing success, including Contender
Films, Disney, Icon, Lionsgate, Momentum, Paramount, Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Warner Bros and
all the filmmakers for supplying fantastic footage and posters for attendees. We also want to thank our special
guests Dirk Blackman, Dave Gibbons, Jack Huston, Jon Mone, Guy Ritchie, Clark Spencer and Mark Strong for submitting
themselves to a grilling at the hands of a movie-savvy crowd.
Thanks to Activision, Apple, Bad Taste Bears, Nerdoh, Optimum, Sega and Titan Books for providing so many prizes,
and to Activision for providing attendees with the first play of the brilliant Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game.
Most of all we want to thank all of you who came along and proved to be such a wonderful audience. The event
wouldn’t have been possible without you and we look forward to seeing you all again next year for an even bigger
and better Movie-Con.
