It seems genetic billionaires Scarlett Johansson and Orlando Bloom may be in talks for Pompeii, a historical drama based on Robert Harris' best-selling novel about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79. It sees the events through the eyes of young engineer Marcus Attilius Primus, who is sent to repair an aqueduct and winds up taking on the corrupt forces of Pompeii and nature itself. Unfortunately, we haven't read the book so we don't know exactly how he goes from plumber to saviour, but it sounds quite the page turner.
