Hollywood might be slowly shutting down for the Thanksgiving holiday, but the awards conveyor belt rarely stops. Tuesday was the turn of the Indie Spirit Nominations, announced this year by Rosario Dawson and Diego Luna. Alejandro Iñárritu’s Birdman and Richard Linklater’s Boyhood were leaders of the pack in terms of nominations.
Yet there was also room for the likes of Nightcrawler, Whiplash and lesser known films such as vampire tale A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and** The One I Love**. We’re also happy to see Obvious Child and Blue Ruin in there with a chance. The awards ceremony happens on February 21, as usual the day before the Oscars.
