After steaming up the screen in Oscar wining racial drama Monsters Ball, Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton will reunite for John Singleton’s adaptation of Nate Blakeslee’s book ‘Tulia’.

Karen Croner wrote the script, from the original novel, ‘Tulia: Race, Cocaine, and Corruption in a Small Texas Town.’

In what sounds like further Oscar styled material, the small Texas town in question faces a number of drug convictions, leading to 10 per cent of the black community of Tulia being jailed.

The lack of evidence against the men creates a civil-rights up-roar among the concerned groups and attorneys.

The Lionsgate production is due to for shooting nearer the end of this year.
