Yup, it's the Razzies

Awards Recognition For The Love Guru

Every loser wins, as Eastenders' Nick Berry once trilled, and so it proved at last night's Razzies where The Love Guru walked away with three awards, including a richly-deserved worst picture gong.

There were Razzie accolades for Paris Hilton too, who tied Eddie Murphy's Norbit record of three gongs. She won worst actress for The Hottie And The Nottie, worst supporting actress for Repo! The Genetic Opera, and worst screen couple for her pairing with either **Hottie **co-stars Christine Lakin or Joel David Moore. That's right, she was so bad the voters couldn't make their minds up.

Forget the Kodak Theatre, the big story was emerging across town last night where **The Love Guru **dominated. As well as worst picture, Mike Myer's comedy picked up the worst actor Razzie for Myers' performance as the hapless guru. It also won worst screenplay for a script that, as once esteemed critic pointed out, "could have been written on a toilet wall by adolescents".

Uwe Boll received a not-hugely-surprising worst career achievement award. Frighteningly, Razzie founder John Wilson anticipated a collaboration between Boll and Hilton. "She may end up working with Boll. She could be head vampire in 'Bloodrayne 3'." Now there's a sobering thought for your Monday morning.

So, were there any ommissions on this list of classics? Who do you feel deserved to pick up one of these auspicious awards?
