Just how far would you go to turn your fantasy dream of a relationship into a reality? And no, we don’t mean building the perfect partner out of pillows and then paying a demon money to use magic to bring them to life. Anyway… Pillow-people aside, that’s the theme of Austenland, and its first trailer is online.
Austenland’s heroine, Jane Hayes (Keri Russell) is an optimistic singleton so obsessed with the Regency-era romance of Jane Austen that she ploughs her life savings into a one-in-a-lifetime trip to the UK, where she’ll stay at a resort catering to those who think life and love should be more like Pride And Prejudice.
Yet when she arrives, she discovers the reality might not be everything she hoped, with the men less than the ideal she’s been searching for and the rules of Regency life stricter than expected. She may, however, simply not realise that her dream dude is under her nose, particularly when she meets Martin (Flight Of The Conchords’ Bret McKenzie) and Mr Nobley (Captain America's JJ Feild)…
