AnnaSophia Robb, the wee girl who played Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has joined the cast of Witch Mountain. The new version of Alexander Key's novel Escape From Witch Mountain, a story of children with paranormal powers, already has The Rock on board. There is an existing 1975 movie – which really isn't as good as you remember – but according to the director of this version, Andy Fickman, this is going to have a little more edge.

Fickman told MTV, "The original book is a very cool dark thriller. We're pulling elements from that. It's a much darker movie than in the 70s when they did 'Escape to Witch Mountain". If the kids could also be less annoying, that'd be awesome.

Robb has shown herself to be a good little actress in her short career and The Rock is the best thing in whatever he's in. Even if he were in a room of magical winged dragons who could rap, it would still be a close run thing.
