James McAvoy just can't stay out of the news by association today – not only has the Brad Pitt vehicle **State Of **Play (in which he starred in the original miniseries) found a director, but James' next film Wanted has a new cast member. And by pure coincidence, it's Brad's other half, Angelina Jolie.

It was announced overnight, amid all of the reporting about the latest addition to her family, that she's signed on to play a mentor assassin to McAvoy's character in the film, under the direction of Nightwatch's Timur Bekmambetov. Interestingly, she has only moved into the role after the script was given a polish by Dean Georgaris – the guy who wrote the world's most semicolon-friendly film, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life. Make of that what you will, but it's all done and dusted now.

This is the third upcoming project for the third time mum, who is also set to star in Clint Eastwood's The Changeling later this year, and the as yet directorless Atlas Shrugged.
