Adam Wingard To Adapt Robert Kirkman Comic Title Hardcore

With Godzilla Vs. Kong still roaring in cinemas, director Adam Wingard is making quick work of using that film's heat to jump on to other movies. The latest would see him collaborate with someone who also knows a thing or two about multiple projects – Wingard will adapt Robert Kirkman's Image Comics title Hardcore for Universal.

Walking Dead overlord Kirkman created the comic with Mark Silvestri. It follows Agent Drake, who is part of the Hardcore Program, a special team of soldiers who can turn any person into a human drone that can take out targets normal troopers can't reach. But when Drake is stranded in a body, he only has 72 hours to discover who has hijacked the program – an enemy who could literally be anyone...

Wingard and co-writer Will Simmons plan to work form a story outline provided by Kirkman, but we'll see how this fits into the director's schedule. Warner Bros. already wants him to make another MonsterVerse movie, he's cooking up a ThunderCats film, and there's also that Face/Off follow-up he has in the works...
