James Wan is back to scare us all silly with more supernatural creepiness in the wake of Insidious. Before, it wasn’t the house that was haunted. But for his next trick,** The Conjuring**, the property’s most definitely got issues. Check out the teaser trailer below.

Based on a true (or at least 'true') story,** The Conjuring** finds the Perron family (led by parents played by Lily Taylor and Ron Livingston) moving into what they think will be a fixer-upper family home with plenty of room for everyone.

What they don’t count on is a terrifying array of spirits, ranging from the benign to the horrific, most notably in the spirit of a witch named Bathsheba Sherman who was hanged on the property. Enter investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warren, who try to help the Perrons solve their ghost problem.

It’s a tale that has intrigued Wan for a while now, and he told **Empire **on set that he’s been eager to make it. “I’ve been following the stories about Ed and Lorraine Warren for a long time,” says Wan. “It’s kind of funny to look back years later at films like The Amityville Horro****r, or The Haunted and say, ‘Wow, that was actually a story about Ed and Lorraine, but they never had the rights to the Warrens! Or learn the parapsychologist characters in Poltergeist were based on Lorraine.’ So when this project came my way, I said, ‘I would love to do something that’s based on a true story.’”

Some new stills from the film are online, and you can see them below. And if that's not enough for you in one day, check out the poster... {First The Conjuring Poster}

The Conjuring arrives on July 19. For more on the movie, check out Empire**’s 2013 horror preview, in the issue that hits stores February 28.
