Saint : The Complete Colour Series, The Review

Despite the pricetag, you can’t argue that this isn’t value for money — 47 episodes of Roger Moore cocking an eye at his halo as adventurer Simon Templar, who traipses around the globe (mostly on the studio backlot), mixing it up with ladies in distress and diabolical baddies. It was an amazingly varied show — Commie spies one week, giant ants the next — with individual episodes played for comedy, tragedy, thrills or hard-bitten crime. Moore is unflappably himself, and you get the cream of late ’60s starlets and scowling character actors.
