Robot Chicken: Season One

Adam and Joe have put away their childish things, but Seth Green and Matthew Senreich are continuing the Brit comedy duo’s legacy of doing very wrong things with toys. This hit US TV show comprises a series of stop-motion skits for pop-culture aficionados with ADD. Their success depends on whether you find the idea of Optimus Prime developing prostate cancer, Bob Marley singing on Zombie Idol and lots of people getting kicked in the nuts inherently funny. With such a quick-fire pace, many of the gags fail to hit the mark, but with an impressive voice cast (including the likes of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Scarlett Johansson, David Hasselhoff and Mark Hamill) happily taking the piss out of themselves, it’s hard not to get caught up in the bad-taste-tinged silliness.
