Crippled from birth by the fact it plays like Buffys dumber cousin, the adventures of the magical Halliwell sisters gathered some momentum by this final season. Middle sibling Piper (Nolly Marie Combs) developed into a believably uptight but funny character, and if Rose McGowans Paige nicks most of the best laughs, Alyssa Milano still gets the odd aside. But the problem isnt so much the leads as the hokey storylines and incessant messing with reality. Over eight seasons, the sisters have died 28 times: thats just careless.
