Charmed: Season 8 Review

Charmed: Season 8

Crippled from birth by the fact it plays like Buffy’s dumber cousin, the adventures of the magical Halliwell sisters gathered some momentum by this final season. Middle sibling Piper (Nolly Marie Combs) developed into a believably uptight but funny character, and if Rose McGowan’s Paige nicks most of the best laughs, Alyssa Milano still gets the odd aside. But the problem isn’t so much the leads as the hokey storylines and incessant messing with reality. Over eight seasons, the sisters have died 28 times: that’s just careless.
