Though Disney+ has mostly kept to a Friday release date for many of its big shows, particularly those from Marvel and Lucasfilm. But trust the God Of Mischief to mix things up, as Loki himself – or rather, Tom Hiddleston – has announced in a new video that the Loki series will actually premiere on Wednesday, June 11.

The show will pick up with the alt-universe Loki who escaped with the Tesseract during Endgame’s time-travel trip. For a character who’s never been easy to pin down, his latest adventure seems to find him at his most unpredictable – working (perhaps unwillingly) with the Time Variance Authority to… well, nobody knows yet. But clues are pointing to the organisation recruiting him to help sort out damaged timelines. Yes, we predict that will go really well.

Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia DiMartino and Richard E. Grant are also all among the cast, with Rick And Morty veteran Michael Waldron as head writer Kate Herron directing all six episodes. And now we know that new episodes will premiere weekly following that June 9 launch. For more on the show, pick up the June 2021 issue ofEmpire.
