With Francis Ford Coppola's classic tale of family, crime, death, ambition and disrespect at weddings The Godfather turning 50 this year, it's the perfect time for a series about the movie's turbulent production. We've already brought you an exclusive interview with Michael Tolkin, the creator of that show, The Offer, and now the first teaser trailer is online to make you and offer you... well, the rest is cine-history.

Though The Godfather has long since gone on to become one of the best movies ever made, actually getting it to the screens was quite the endeavour for producer Albert S. Ruddy (who also executive produces the series), played here by Miles Teller. It's a compelling story of clashing egos, threats, and chaos.

Starring alongside Teller are Juno Temple as Ruddy’s secretary and right hand woman Bettye McCartt, Matthew Goode as Paramount Studios chief Robert Evans, Dan Fogler as Coppola himself, and Giovanni Ribisi plays real-life mobster Joe Columbo, who was determined to shut down production entirely.

Created and written by Tolkin with Nikki Toscano as co-writer and showrunner, The Offer kicks off on streaming service Paramount+ for Stateside viewers on 28 April. There's no official launch date for the show in the UK yet.
