Disney just can't help firing up the corporate synergy machine – it's like an Infinity Stone to the company at this point – and crossing its various characters over. Following on from the Star Wars-spoofing short starring Maggie Simpson, now we have Loki himself (voiced, of course by Tom Hiddleston) meeting someone he'd probably view as a kindred spirit – Bart.
There are few official details, though the synopsis reads as follows: "Loki is banished from Asgard once again and must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. The God of Mischief teams up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Super Heroes and villains."
Yes, based on the poster alone, it appears plenty of Simpsons characters will appear as Marvel types, including Lisa as Thor, Ralph Wiggum as Hulk and Ned Flanders as Ant-Man.
The short, The Simpsons: The Good The Bart And The Loki, will premiere on Disney+ on 7 July.
