Dominic West as Prince Charles in The Crown

If you were a producer on The Crown, and you were looking for someone to play a teenage Prince William on a season of the show where you already had Dominic West portraying Prince Charles, where might you search? Everywhere? Or perhaps just look to Senan West, the actor's 13-year-old son? Seems logical. And that's partly what has happened, as the younger West will be William for a few episodes in Series 5.

According to Variety, it's less Dominic West having a word about the idea and more Senan's agent submitting a tape, which caught the eye of the show's bosses and saw him land the role. He'll show up towards the end of the fifth series, playing a more mature William dealing with tough times.

This series, which also has Elizabeth Debicki as Diana and Imelda Staunton as The Queen, will track the royal story into the 1990s, where Her Majesty faced events such as four of her children dissolving marriages, Windsor Castle catching fire and Diana's statements about her marriage and tragic death. It remains to be seen how much the show deals with that aspect.

We don't have a date for the new series yet, especially since it is still shooting, but we'd guess it'll arrive later next year.
