Fresh off storming the Emmy Awards with Ted Lasso, actor/writer Brett Goldstein and showrunner/writer Bill Lawrence have hatched a deal to work on another comedy series for Apple TV+, this time with Jason Segel starring and co-writing.
Shrinking will see Segel as a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives, including his own.
Whether Goldstein shows up in front of the camera this time remains to be seen, but he'll definitely be in the writers room.
And this is just the latest Apple project for Lawrence – he also has Bad Monkey, with Vince Vaughn attached, bubbling away.
