Apple is not short of big names for its series (it even joked about the fact in a recent ad) and Samuel L. Jackson was in one of the tech company's earliest efforts for Apple TV+ movies, The Banker. He's back starring in a new series adapted from Walter Mosley's work, The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey, which has a trailer online.
With Jackson on as executive producer alongside Mosley (the author adapted his own tome into the six-episode series), the series focuses on the titular Grey, an ailing man forgotten by his family, by his friends, and by even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn (Dominique Fishback). When they learn about a treatment that can temporarily restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories (spearheaded by Walton Goggins' character), it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.
With Omar Miller, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Damon Gupton and Cynthia Kaye McWilliams also in the cast, the series will debut on Apple TV+ on 11 March with two episodes, followed by one a week on Fridays.
