We've already had a teaser for James Gunn's Peacemaker – his small-screen follow-up to The Suicide Squad that puts the spotlight onJohn Cena's boorish, violent soldier. The full trailer has now landed, featuring all the quips, shots and Eagly action (yes, he has a pet eagle) you could want.

Peacemaker takes place after the events of the movie which – spoiler alert in case you didn't catch it – used a post-credit sting to reveal that Peacemaker survived being shot and having a building effectively land on him.

Recruited by the government in exchange for zero jail time after his betrayal during the mission, he's now a hired gun – which seemingly suits him fine... Until his resolve wobbles in the face of the mission's demands. Something his tough dad, Auggie (Robert Patrick), won't look kindly on.

With Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn and Steve Agee as Economos, Peacemaker will be on US screens via HBO Max on 13 January, kicking off with three episodes, with one following weekly for a total of eight. There's no strict date for thew UK, but we'd be surprised if it didn't show up on Sky before too long.
