We're still oddly delighted that Will Forte, Jorma Taccone and the rest of Team MacGruber have been able to bring the foul-mouthed, trigger-happy mercenary man back for his own TV series. And there's a new trailer online, which leans into both the language and the violence we've come to know and love. Who, as the man himself says, let the dog out?

In this case, it's the US government, which, even though it flung the former Special Forces soldier into prison for life due to all the lives he took while trying to stop madman Dieter von Cunth (Val Kilmer) in the movie, has discovered a threat so great that only one man can stop it. And that man is... MacGruber. Look, his name's still in the title, that's not a surprise.

This time, however, the danger comes from Enos Queeth (Billy Zane), a man with a personal connection to our hero – turns out he murdered MacGruber's mother, the fiend.

Rounding up Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) and colleague/lady love Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig), MacGruber's off on another mission. Expect a high body count.

With Sam Elliott and Laurence Fishburne also part of the madness, MacGruber debuts on the Peacock streaming service on 16 December. UK viewers can get Peacock via an Entertainment Pass with Sky and NOW.
