When Rhys Darby is in your cast, you're pretty much guaranteed some quality comedy. And with Taika Waititi involved both behind and in front of the camera, that makes new laugh-targeting series Our Flag Means Death definitely one to look forward to. Check out the first teaser for the piratical show below.
Created by People Of Earth's David Jenkins, Our Flag Means Death is loosely based on the true adventures of Stede Bonnet (Darby), a pampered aristocrat who abandoned his life of privilege to become a pirate. His crew aren't exactly working with a full crow's nest and he's got some truly dangerous competition in the form of Blackbeard (Waititi), one of history's most feared pirates.
And Jenkins has certainly stuffed the show full of funny people: Leslie Jones, Ewen Bremner, David Fane, Nat Faxon, Nathan Foad, Fred Armisen, Joel Fry, Rory Kinnear, Matt Maher, Kristian Nairn, Con O’Neill and Vico Ortiz are all on board this one, which will debut across the pond later in 2022 via HBO Max, which means we're still waiting to hear on which channel (if not one of the Sky offerings) it'll dock in the UK.
