There has been talk for a while that Warner Bros. Discovery was ready to head back to Hogwarts, with plans in the works for a Harry Potter streaming series that would once again adapt the books. Now, as the company announces its Max streaming service (a combination of HBO Max and Discovery+ in the States), it has made the Potter news official.

There are zero details as to what the show will entail, or about who is in it/will be making it, but we do know it is planned as a decade-long series with a new cast.

"Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.", according to the official blurb.

"We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way," says HBO CEO Casey Bloys in a statement. "Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World."

Expect more to emerge in the coming weeks and months…
