The TV adaptation of the massively popular game franchise Halo has been a long time coming, but we finally now have a second trailer to remind us that it will land later this year.

With Kyle Killen and Steven Kane running the show (at least for its first season), Halo adapts the game's story of a 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.

In a war for humanity's very survival, our deadliest weapon is our greatest hope. Master Chief (played by Pablo Schreiber in a Mandalorian-style role that should rarely, if ever, see him without his combat helmet) is a powerful, augmented soldier on the front line of the battle. But when he accidentally interacts with an artefact that the enemy has been searching for, his outlook starts to shift...

We also get some glimpses of Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, and Jen Taylor as AI construct Cortana. Peaky Blinders and His Dark Materials veteran Otto Bathurst directs the first two episodes and Steven Spielberg himself is among the executive producers.

Halo is scheduled to launch its first episode via Paramount Plus in the US on 24 March. We're still waiting to learn when the service will launch here in the UK, but that'll eventually be the place to see the show.
