It would be an understatement to say that this year's Golden Globes ceremony was muted. Replacing the usual televised, alcohol fuelled, celebrity-filled banquet where a well known host slings jokes and filmmakers give each other awards was a quiet affair attended by members that wasn't even live-streamed. Announcing the winners instead over social media, the maligned Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded the likes of Succession, Ted Lasso, Mare Of Easttown and more on the small screen front.

Succession, which had been favoured to win a number of gongs, nabbed Best TV Drama, Best Actor – Drama for Jeremy Strong and Best Supporting Actress (all of TV) for Sarah Snook.

HBO also saw success with comedy series Hacks, which won the main TV comedy category and Best Actress – Comedy Or Musical for star Jean Smart. Best Actress – Drama was Pose's MJ Rodriguez.

Best Actor – Comedy Or Musical was Ted Lasso's Jason Sudeikis, while Supporting Actor (all of TV) went to Squid Game's O Yeong-Su.

On the TV Movie/Limited Series/Anthology front, Barry Jenkins' The Underground Railroad won its category, with Dopesick's Michael Keaton taking Best Actor, and Mare Of Easttown's Kate Winslet scoring Best Actress.
