While The Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints Of Newark might not have set the box office alight (thanks a problematic cocktail of the pandemic, some mixed reviews and its presence, in the US, at least, on HBO Max), it would appear that creator David Chase and Warners are still looking at ways to keep telling stories about Tony and co. And, as has been speculated, talks are now turning towards a new prequel series.

According to Deadline, it's very early days on this, and nothing is official, but WarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff has been talking positively about the results from Newark and that the executives are chatting to Chase about new projects moving forward. Chase has said that he'd be up for another film co-written with Terence Winter, but a series may end up being a better fit.

Quite what it'll cover is still a mystery, though there is plenty of time to cover between the late 1960s and early 1970s milieu of the movie and the show kicking off in 1998.
