Outside of "strike first, strike hard, no mercy," the Cobra Kai dojo's enduring motto is "Cobra Kai never dies!" That may be true, but the show that brought the Karate Kid story successfully to small screens is ending. We've known since earlier this year that Cobra Kai would be wrapping up, and now Netflix has released a teaser for what promises to be an epic, three-chunk finale stretching across this year and into next. Check it out…

Yes, as with some of the streaming service's other big hits (your Stranger Things, your Bridgerton), the final run will, like a karate master breaking boards, be split in three, with the first part landing on 18 July, the second arriving on 28 November and the third on an unspecified date in 2025. And given that the expanded farewell season features 15 episodes, we'd guess five episodes per chunk (but there's no word on that).

And while the teaser doesn't offer much in the way of plot, the end of Season 5 teed up the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate – with our senseis (William Zabka's Johnny Lawrence and Ralph Macchio Daniel LaRusso) deciding if and how they want to enter to finally show their enemies (including Martin Kove's John Kreese) who's best.

Expect clashes! And double-crossing! And comedy! As mentioned above, it all (crane) kicks off on 18 July, but it'll be a cruel summer waiting to see more.
