Between busy schedules for the cast and co-creator/star Donald Glover and the small matter of a global pandemic, it has been three years since we last saw the gang from Atlanta. But the show will be back next year, and a new teaser shows some of their misadventures as they travel to the UK and Europe on tour.
Season 2 ended with Earn (Glover), Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry), and Darius (Lakeith Stanfield) flying off to Europe for a rap tour with Clark County (RJ Walker), with Earn and Alfred’s partnership seemingly secure. However, Earn, and Van (Zazie Beetz) remain at a crossroads, broken up after Van moves into her mother’s house with their daughter.
The new footage appears to show the pair still not quite working things out, while there are communication difficulties and airport struggles to overcome.
Atlanta will be back on US channel FX on 24 March with a two-episode premiere, and while there's no official announcement yet, we're hopeful it'll show up on Disney+ in the UK around the same time. After all, haven't we waited long enough?
