Given the diminished number of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's residents following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, it's tough to report on new movies featuring heroes last seen vanishing into dust. Some details are unavoidable – we already know Tom Holland is back working on Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel Far From Home, but two new pieces of casting have us pushing the exact details to the next paragraph. Only read on if you don't mind spoilers...

According to Vulture (nothing to do with Michael Keaton's character), the Far From Home cast list is expanding to include – one last spoiler warning – Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill. Who, as you'll know, popped up in Infinity War's coda for a few minutes before falling victim to Thanos' mighty, existence-ending snap.

Now, while we're still wondering about the time period for Far From Home, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has said it'll see Peter dealing with the aftermath of the next Avengers film, so we're assuming – and that's all we can do for now – that both Hill and Fury make it back into being. But with Jackson appearing in Captain Marvel next year also, who knows what time larks are being played with.

With Far From Home shooting in London and elsewhere in Europe, the cast features the return of Keaton, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori, with Jake Gyllenhaal as the villainous Mysterio. The movie will be out in the US on 5 July next year, but has yet to confirm a UK date. Given the parallel release for the previous film, we're guessing the new one will be out around the same time.
