Reacher is back. Back on our screens in October, and back in the new issue of Empire magazine this week. As a sneak preview of our far-reaching Reacher feature, here's a new shot of Tom Cruise's zero-nonsense vigilante in action.
As the picture makes clear, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back won't see the nomadic shit-kicker eshewing violence in his pursuit of justice. But there's more going on in this one than just punching, kicking and shooting wrongdoers. The clock in his head says it's time for parenthood: a teenage daughter he didn't know he had, called Samantha Dayton (Danika Yarosh), is appearing in his life.
"How would Reacher deal with a 15-year-old," ponders Cruise in the new Empire of this strange new dynamic. "It's the characters around him who bring out different aspects of his personality." Can we expect a new-found domesticity for Reacher, then? Probably not, considering the nefarious conspiracy he and Cobie Smulders' MP-on-the-run will be facing.
