Fresh from a major success in the MCU with Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi has been throwing himself into a variety of projects, including a TV version of vampire mock-doc What We Do In The Shadows and his next planned film, the unusual-sounding Jojo Rabbit. He's now landed Scarlett Johansson to play a key role in the latter.

While "unusual-sounding" is often where Waititi soars, Jojo Rabbit could prove to be more controversial than some of his other work, set as it is in Germany during World War II, when a young lad in Hitler's army discovers his mother (Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl in their home. Waititi is also acting in this one (as he usually does in his films), playing a fantasy version of the führer, albeit one he's said won't be complimentary to one of history's worst monsters.

Waititi now has to find a lad to play the boy before he can start cranking the cameras. Johansson will be part of the sprawling Avengers: Infinity War cast, with the film headed our way on 26 April. But before that, you can hear her voicing one of the characters in Isle Of Dogs, out this week.
