If you're a fan of the Marvel/Netflix series such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, you might have to be patient, as new episodes of both are not likely to arrive until 2018 at the earliest? The reason? Their production schedules and the increasingly full nature of the shows' world.

This year we've already had Daredevil's second season and Luke Cage is set to join the party on September 30. Talking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour (and reported upon by the team at IGN), Netflix boss Ted Sarandos outlined the coming schedule. "Luke Cage next and then Iron Fist and then Defenders," he said. "And then we'll start slotting the second and third seasons of the shows that are upcoming, but they "haven’t gone beyond that yet."

When asked if the streaming service might increase its output to more than two shows a year, he was careful in his answer. "I doubt that we could produce at the quality that they produce at that speed. But we’re gonna try to make them quicker so we can get less downtime between them." And as for the possibility that Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle (AKA The Punisher) might show up in The Defenders before his own series arrives? "Uh... stay tuned."

We know that Jessica Jones and Daredevil are likely to be the next series to enter production, but this means they won't be back on our screens until 2018 at the earliest. So... we wait. Meanwhile, watch the latest Luke Cage teaser to tide you over.
