Based on J.K. Rowling’s very slim Hogwarts textbook (the film marks her inaugural screenwriting credit), Fantastic Beasts will transport its audience to 1920s New York, introducing us to an array of new magical creatures beyond the world of Harry Potter. Eddie Redmayne is Newt Scamander, the magizoologist at the film’s heart, who must hunt down a mysterious misplaced magical case that, if not found, could spell a whole lot of trouble for the wizarding and No-Maj (that’s American for ‘Muggle’) worlds. Oo-err.
