Jason Isaacs in Star Trek: Discovery

Though we recently got a decent look at the world of Star Trek: Discovery and its main characters through pictures and footage, one main element remained frustratingly off screen. That would be Jason Isaacs' Captain Lorca, and now we can all see what he looks like via a new image from Entertainment Weekly.

Essentially, it's just Jason Isaacs, albeit wearing a uniform that looks like it drew all its colour from a vibrant blue nebula. But we also learn some new information about the man, including the fact that his full name is Gabriel Lorca, and is a considered a top military tactician in the Federation fleet. He's the captain of the Discovery, and the picture offers a look at the ship's bridge, since the trailer is largely set on the USS Shenzhou, as captained by Michelle Yeoh's Philippa Georgiou.

Other cast members include Sonequa Martin-Green as the show's main character First Officer Michael Burnham, Doug Jones and Rainn Wilson.

The show hits US network CBS for its premiere on 24 September, before moving to the company's All Access streaming service for the second and following shows. UK viewers will be able to watch Discovery via Netflix the next day after each episode airs.
